Marion County deputies said they have made an arrest in the murders of two women and two children found Friday.

Deputies arrested James Bannister early Thursday morning. They did not immediately say what led investigators to the man, other than that the Marion County Sheriff’s Office had formed a special task force decided to the case last weekend.

The victims’ bodies were discovered in a burning home on Northwest Fifth Street. They were identified as:

  • Bridget Gray, 52
  • Jocalyn Gray, 27

Man arrested for trying to marry woman with a restraining order against him Continue reading on Examiner.com Man arrested for trying to marry woman with a restraining order against him – National Str

This happened to me. My daughter was 10 months old before we were married. Hal Richardson was on probation for 95 DV conviction 8 mos prior (part of which entailed NO CONTACT w Victim).
When all other coercion did not work–He took my infant daughter from her from daycare, to the Indian reservation.

The Toepka, Kansas local authorities (and FBI) would not go get my daughter, said it was treaties or such. No one, even w restraining order, and probation requirements and conviction in hand– would get my daughter back to me.

Our captor (ex) HAL RICHARDSON said if I ever wanted to see my child again, I would marry him (in another state MO. as he was on probation in KS for crimes against myself).

Eventually after no ‘authority’ would help me, I did marry him, got my daughter back 3 days later, I left him two days after that and never went back. That was in 1995.
In 2005 I found the State and county were we were married, and had it annulled as a ‘shot gun’ marriage. (although I was by this time divorced and still in custody litigation w abuser in Kansas) it was a self principled matter by this time.

I am glad they arrested this bully. There is always some coercive control going on when women ‘go back’ or ‘marry’ the perp they have restraining order on.

A Decatur, Illinois couple found out on Wednesday that the legal system doesn’t play well with couples who have filed domestic violence charges with the court system.

Billy J. Rutherford was arrested Wednesday for allegedly violating the terms of his bail while waiting outside a Macon County courtroom, moments before getting married by Associate Judge Thomas Griffith, reports Decatur Herald & Review. He was planning on marrying the same woman who had him arrested a few months back for domestic violence.

Rutherford was charged with one count of aggravated domestic battery and three counts of domestic battery back in March after he had “been beating on her (his girlfriend) all day.” On March 9th, the victim was granted an order of protection from Rutherford, which he violated two weeks later. He was arrested for violating the court order and bailed out of jail on March 27th.

According to Pantagraph.com, Rutherford wanted to be a married man when he went to court for the domestic violence charges on Monday. It also states that the couple wanted Judge Griffith because he represented them both separately when he was a private attorney

Rutherford may face charges of violation of bail bond and could face up to 364 days in jail for violating the court order. This is in addition to the other charges that are currently stacked against him.

Father arrested after son’s stab death

A man has been arrested in Umea, northern Sweden, after his seven year-old son was stabbed to death at home.

Police have been tight-lipped about the exact circumstances of the murder, which occurred on Sunday, but have confirmed that both a man and a woman related to the boy were taken into custody.

Ebbe Nyberg, of the Vasterbotten Police, told news agency TT that the woman has not been remanded. “She was released after interrogation. The man remains in custody, suspected of murder,” he said. He described the event as “a very tragic family drama”.

The police were called by a neighbour who heard pleas for help at around 08.00 on Sunday morning. When they arrived, they found the severely wounded boy and rushed him to hospital, but he died of his injuries shortly after.

Mikael Rying, a criminologist from Mittuniversitetet, explained to TT that, “Severe mental disorders are nearly always involved in this type of crime.” He said that around three children under 15 are subjected to deadly violence in Sweden each year, down from between 10 and 12 cases in the 1990s. He added, however, that this figure can vary substantially from year to year.

“When children are this badly hurt, one of the parents is the perpetrator in 80-90 percent of the cases. The crime is committed in their apartment and the motive is rarely directed at the child. Instead, mental illness or custody cases can lie behind the violence,” said Rying. “But the sort of case found in Umea is thankfully very uncommon. Weapons are rarely involved in cases with young children,” he added.

Shawn Lee Morison, owner of Southern-Electric Tattoo Parlor at 1521 U.S. 90 in Gautier, was arrested and charged on three offenses, including kidnapping, aggravated domestic violence and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

GAUTIER, Mississippi — The owner of a local tattoo business was arrested Tuesday afternoon for allegedly assaulting his wife and holding her against her will, Detective Sgt. Matt Hoggatt said Wednesday morning.

“The woman is his wife and this wasn’t just a random act,” Hoggatt said. “His business has only been open for a few months.”

“We located Morison hiding in the woods near the business a short time after the assault,” Hoggatt said. “He was taken into custody.”

Hoggatt said it was unclear why Morison’s wife was at the tattoo parlor and declined to reveal Morison’s previous conviction.
